Practicing in the mind can improve real performance
A meta-analysis of 37 studies found that mental practice had a small but significant positive effect on performance, and concluded it has an enduring positive influence.
QR5 Subconscious Experiences
Experience the Power of Your Subconscious Mind.
What if lasting change isn’t only about what you consciously know, but about the patterns you’ve unconsciously practiced?
You can know exactly what you want. You can understand what you need to do. You can have the skills, the knowledge and the opportunities to succeed.
Yet something inside can still hold you back. So much of how we think, feel, react and behave is shaped by patterns operating outside our conscious awareness.
QR5 Subconscious Experiences are immersive, guided personal-development experiences, created to help you explore subconscious patterns, strengthen your mindset, and practice new ways of thinking, feeling and responding. Not just understanding change, but experiencing it.
What makes them different
Developed by best-selling author, international speaker and Subconscious Mindset Coach Quentin McCain, known as Coach Q, the collection brings together the methods and elements below. Not every recording includes every element or follows the complete QR5 Shift™ process; each is designed as a guided experience you take part in. Here is what each one does.
A relaxed, focused state of attention, guided by Coach Q’s voice, in which you’re open to new perspectives and suggestions. You stay in control throughout.
Vivid, guided imagery you move through as if it were happening now: scenes, conversations and decisions that let you rehearse the person you’re becoming.
Language patterns and exercises that help you notice how you describe situations to yourself, and explore new interpretations that better support who you’re becoming.
Coach Q’s proprietary five-step framework (Reveal, Release, Reframe, Rehearse, Respond) for moving from awareness to intentional action. The collection draws on this methodology; see the steps below.
Carefully selected to create an engaging environment for reflection, relaxation and focused listening.
A slightly different tone in each ear creates a perceived rhythmic beat. It’s part of the listening environment, with the frequency range chosen to suit each experience: for example, alpha for relaxed focus and theta for deeper, introspective visualization. Some research suggests possible benefits in areas such as attention and anxiety, though findings vary. Stereo headphones recommended.
Each experience guides you through a journey of awareness, reflection, mental rehearsal and intentional change. Whether you want to strengthen your confidence, move beyond limiting beliefs, handle stress more effectively or build a stronger sense of identity, these experiences are designed to help you practice new ways of thinking and responding.
Rehearse showing up steadier and more self-assured before the moment arrives.
Practice pausing, reframing and responding with intention instead of reacting on autopilot.
Notice the old stories you keep running, and rehearse new ones that fit who you are becoming.
Quiet the noise so you can hear what you actually want, and what your next step is.
Train your attention on what matters, in a calm, distraction-free setting.
Turn awareness into action, especially when it matters most.
The goal isn’t simply to feel different during an experience. It’s to begin responding differently when it matters most.
When you change the way you think, feel, and respond, the benefits can extend into nearly every area of your life.
Your mindset influences more than your thoughts. It can shape how you show up at work, navigate challenges, connect with others, and experience everyday life.
QR5 Subconscious Experiences are designed to support meaningful personal growth, with potential benefits including:
Support a greater sense of emotional balance, self-awareness, and everyday wellness.
Develop greater mental clarity, focus, and intentionality in how you use your time and energy.
Strengthen confidence, mental preparation, and your ability to respond effectively under pressure.
Practice more constructive emotional responses and cultivate a more positive outlook.
Build greater self-awareness, emotional flexibility, and intentional communication with others.
Challenge limiting perspectives and rehearse showing up with greater certainty and self-trust.
Because when you change what’s happening within you, you create new possibilities for what happens around you.
These are potential benefits of mindset development that the collection is designed to support. They are not guaranteed outcomes, and not every recording addresses every area. These experiences are personal-development tools. Individual results vary, and no specific outcome is guaranteed.
The framework
Awareness creates opportunity. What you do with that awareness creates change. The Next Level You is Coach Q’s signature, full QR5 Shift™ experience, guiding you through all five steps. Shorter experiences may draw on selected principles of the method without walking through every step.
Become aware of the unconscious patterns, beliefs, emotions, and reactions influencing your experience.
Begin loosening the grip of limiting beliefs, unhelpful emotional associations, and outdated patterns.
Explore new interpretations, perspectives, and possibilities that better support who you’re becoming.
Mentally and emotionally practice the thoughts, responses, and behaviors you want to strengthen.
Bring the internal work into real-life decisions and intentional action.
How to listen
Choose somewhere you won’t be interrupted and silence notifications. Never listen while driving, operating machinery, or doing anything that needs your full attention.
Each ear receives its own tone, which is how the binaural beat experience is intended to work. Without headphones you can still listen, but that element won’t work as designed.
Moderate is plenty. Louder isn’t better.
Before you press play, ask yourself what you’re ready to strengthen, release or change. Come with curiosity.
Close your eyes if that’s comfortable. There’s no perfect way to participate, and you don’t need to force a particular feeling or result.
Repetition is part of the process. See the suggested rhythm below.
Take a moment before you move on, then choose one small action to carry into your day.
These experiences are a practice, not a one-time listen. Repetition, reflection and applying what you learn in daily life are central to the experience.
Before you move on with your day, ask yourself:
- What did I recognize?
- What shifted?
- What am I going to do differently because of it?
Remember, awareness creates opportunity. But it’s what you do with that awareness that creates change.
Find a quiet, comfortable place to listen. Never listen while driving or operating machinery. This guided experience is for personal growth and is not a substitute for medical or mental-health care.
Shorter experiences (about 8–15 minutes): we suggest listening once a day for at least 21 days.
The Next Level You (about 53 minutes): start with 7 days, then revisit it regularly, at least once a week.
Repetition gives you repeated chances to revisit new perspectives, strengthen your mental rehearsal and practice intentional responses. Twenty-one days is a recommended consistency practice, not an obligation, and a missed day doesn’t undo your progress. Just pick up the next day.
What the research says
Here are published findings on the individual techniques the collection draws on. They are not studies of QR5 Subconscious Experiences themselves.
A meta-analysis of 37 studies found that mental practice had a small but significant positive effect on performance, and concluded it has an enduring positive influence.
A leading review in Trends in Cognitive Sciences explains how mental imagery operates in the brain and how it is used in clinical applications.
Stanford researchers used brain imaging and found distinct changes during hypnosis, in regions linked to attention, body awareness and self-reflection, in highly hypnotizable people.
A meta-analysis of 48 neuroimaging studies found that cognitive reappraisal engages the brain’s control regions and modulates the amygdala, a key emotional-response center.
A meta-analysis of 22 studies found a medium overall effect (g = 0.45) on memory, attention, anxiety and pain perception, with results depending on the beat frequency, session length and timing.
University College London researchers found new behaviors took 66 days on average to feel automatic, and that missing a single opportunity did not significantly affect habit formation.
Research on these methods is ongoing and results vary from person to person. These studies examine the individual techniques, not QR5 Subconscious Experiences themselves. The experiences are personal-development tools, not a substitute for medical or mental-health treatment. If an experience causes discomfort, stop listening and seek appropriate professional guidance.
Listen. Reflect. Rehearse. Respond. Repeat.
